Generated Media, Inc. ("we", "our", "us") operates Time Clock: Hours Tracker (the "App"), an app for tracking work shifts and calculating earnings. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the App.
In short: everything you enter into the App - your shifts, job sites, hourly rates, earnings, and business details - is stored only on your device. We operate no servers and receive none of it. The only data that leaves your device is what Google's advertising SDK collects in order to serve advertising, as described below.
The App stores the following in a local database on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else:
This data lives in the App's private storage area on your device. It is included in your device backups if you have iCloud Backup or encrypted local backups enabled - that is a function of iOS, not of the App, and we have no access to those backups. Deleting the App deletes this data.
Users who have not purchased Pro may see occasional full-screen (interstitial) ads. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google. Purchasing any Pro plan removes ads entirely.
Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The App receives only a yes/no signal from Apple indicating whether your Pro entitlement is active. We never see or receive your name, payment card, billing address, or Apple ID.
PDF invoices and timesheets are generated on your device from data already stored there. When you export a document, it is written to your device's temporary storage and handed to the standard iOS share sheet, where you choose what happens to it - email, messaging, saving to Files, and so on. The App does not upload exported documents anywhere, and we never receive a copy. Once you send a document to a third-party app or service, that recipient's own privacy policy applies.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Because we do not collect your App data in the first place, there is nothing for us to share. The only third party that receives any information in connection with the App is Google, through its advertising SDK, as described under "Advertising" above, and Apple, in connection with purchases you make through the App Store.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or valid legal process - though in practice we hold no user data that could be produced.
Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, our legal bases are:
The data controller for the App is Generated Media, Inc. For advertising data collected through its SDK, Google acts as an independent controller under its own policies.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, and receive a portable copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time.
Because all of your App content is stored solely on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly: view and edit any shift, job, or profile detail inside the App, delete individual records, or delete the App to erase everything at once. We hold no copy to return, correct, or delete on your behalf.
For advertising data held by Google, please refer to Google's privacy policy and ad settings. You may also contact us using the details below, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
We do not transfer your data internationally, because we do not collect it. Advertising data collected by Google may be processed in the United States and other countries under Google's own transfer safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data you enter is retained on your device for as long as you keep it there, and is deleted when you delete the record or uninstall the App. We retain no personal data ourselves, so no retention period applies on our side. Advertising data retention is determined by Google.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money. The one category of personal information collected in connection with the App is identifiers and internet activity - the advertising identifier and ad-interaction data collected by Google's advertising SDK for the commercial purpose of displaying advertisements. Under some readings of the CPRA, personalised advertising may qualify as "sharing"; you can opt out at any time by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or by turning off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in iOS Settings. Purchasing Pro stops advertisements from being displayed to you, but the advertising SDK remains active in the App, so it is not by itself a means of opting out of this collection.
No other category of personal information - not your shifts, earnings, client details, or documents - is collected, sold, or shared.
Your data is protected by the security of your own device, including the device passcode and iOS's app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from reading the App's storage. Because your data never travels to a server of ours, it is not exposed to the risks of network transmission or of a server-side breach. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App is a professional tool intended for users aged 13 and over, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes affecting how your data is handled will be reflected here before they take effect.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise any of the rights described above, please contact Generated Media, Inc. at generated.photos/contact-us.
